Kingdom Quest: Week 1

John the Baptist went from witnessing God's voice declare Jesus as His Son to questioning whether Jesus was really the Messiah. His crisis came from unmet expectations - he expected a king who would overthrow Rome with force, but instead found himself imprisoned while Jesus ministered to the poor. Jesus responded by pointing to the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecies, showing that God's kingdom was indeed present, just not in the way John expected. Through parables of the mustard seed and yeast, Jesus revealed that His kingdom begins small and works invisibly but transforms everything. God's kingdom isn't about political power but about conquering sin and death, offering us abundant life right now when we align our expectations with who Jesus truly is.
